The Arizona Cardinals kept their head above water for the most part in a closely fought NFC West. Unfortunately for them, they couldn’t stay in the race the entire way. Arizona finished the 2025 season with an 8-9 record, third in the NFC West. The Cardinals made big moves in free agency to bolster the roster. They signed the likes of Josh Sweat and Calais Campbell to shore up their defense.

The Atlanta Falcons were in contention for the NFC South most of the season, but things fell apart near the end. The Falcons benched quarterback Kirk Cousins, and they missed the playoffs after a Week 18 loss. Atlanta believes it can still compete sooner rather than later. The Falcons added depth in free agency to give themselves a better shot, but they’ll need to add more top-end talent in the 2025 NFL Draft. Fans witnessed a horrible sight on Sunday when San Diego Padres star Luis Arraez was carted off the field with an injury. During a play at first base, he collided with Houston Astros infielder Mauricio Dubon. Thankfully, despite how terrifying the play looked, Arraez is in stable condition. Dubon stayed in the game until the ninth inning. He was pinch hit for by Yandy Diaz. In the end, the Astros lost the game 3-2. However, the result certainly wasn’t at the forefront of anyone’s mind.

The St. Louis Blues dropped Game 1 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs to the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday. St. Louis had a 3-2 lead with less than 10 minutes remaining in the third period. However, head coach Jim Montgomery watched as his team blew the lead. The Jets skated away with a 5-3 victory at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It’s a heartbreaking way to lose a game. Especially when this game could set the tone for the rest of their postseason run.
