Arizona relief pitcher Devyn Netz recorded three of the 1-2-3 innings, including six consecutive outs in the final two frames to prevent Tech from mounting a comeback. The Red Raiders’ 30.8 on-base percentage led to Tech’s first loss in 12 conference games, according to Tech Athletics.

The NCAA cracked down on players faking injuries with a rule change Thursday morning that will charge the offending team a timeout. The attempt to prevent players from intentionally stopping the flow of play was one of seven rule changes made at the FBS level by the Playing Rules Oversight Panel in a meeting on Wednesday. Prior to the 2025 season, when a fake injury occurred, the play was stopped without the usage of a timeout by either team.
