Whether you like it or not, AI is changing the game for coders, movie makers, and bankers. But what about the rest of us? For AI EQ, we get our hands dirty trying to find pragmatic purpose in all the latest consumer-facing AI. There’s a lingering feeling of unease I get when looking upon generative art these days. It’s not necessarily the seasickness I used to feel for poorly rendered figures with six fingers or landscapes flouting the law of physics.

Baby name trends are their own sort of measure for who’s hot at a certain time. Take “Noah.” The second most popular baby boy name in 2023 could rank up there for plenty of reasons. It’s a good, strong, short name. It has obvious Biblical call backs. But also, Noah Kahn was on top of the world in 2023. Sure, not all the new parents out there were big enough Kahn fans to name their child after the singer.

Sure, not all the new parents out there were big enough Olivia Rodrigo fans to name their child after the singer. But 2023 was a very, very big year for the singer. Olivia was in the air.
