Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – A former corrections officer from Southern Regional Jail was sentenced on Monday for failing to intervene to stop other officers from assaulting inmate Quantez Burks. 25-year-old Ashley Toney was sentenced to six years and six months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

Huntington, WV (WOAY) – 33-year-old Mark Radford of Huntington was sentenced on Monday for time served and 15 years of supervised release for possession of child porn. Radford must also register as a sex offender. Court documents state that around November 3, 2022, law enforcement officers took Radford’s cell phone. A forensic examination of the phone showed around 22 images of minors engaged in sexual activity. Radford confirmed he downloaded these photos online.

Law enforcement arrested seven people on various charges, including distributing or selling hemp-derived cannabinoid products to people under the age of 21 and possession with intent to deliver controlled substances. Officers also seized more than ten thousand dollars.
