Chlorantraniliprole is widely used as a seed treatment in rice to control the rice water weevil, Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus, and stem borers including the sugarcane borer, Diatraea saccharalis, and the Mexican rice borer, Eoreuma loftini. These seed treatments are applied prophylactically, and there are few alternative control measures that can be applied during the season to control both pests.
