    4 June 2025 (opens in a new window)Professor Brendan Murphy has been elected as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), the world’s largest community of statisticians and data scientists. The only Ireland-based researcher currently holding this fellowship, Professor Murphy, from the UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics, is also the first Ireland-based recipient since 1960 and the only European elected this year.

    3 June 2025 Four projects from UCD have received funding under the Research Alliance Award initiative,  a collaborative funding programme designed to boost Ireland’s research ties with Wales. Launched in December 2024 by the Wales Innovation Network (WIN) and Taighde Éireann – Research Ireland, the Research Alliance Award provides seed funding to researchers in both countries to develop joint proposals for Horizon Europe and other European funding programmes.

Led by (opens in a new window)Dr Sharleen O’Reilly from the UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science, the Bump2Baby&Me+ study has received €2 million partnership funding from Horizon Europe, with the Health Research Board as the Irish national funder.
