Ndigbo didn’t oppose protests against bad governance and hunger in NigeriaBy Uche OnyeaguchaMy attention has been drawn to numerous articles that Ndigbo are opposed and do not support the present national protests against bad governance and hunger in Nigeria. This view is wrong and it is tainted with ignorance. Ndigbo support the ongoing national protests. Ndigbo more than any other ethnic group in Nigeria are opposed to bad governance in Nigeria.

(Published in the Nigerian Tribune on Monday, 5 August, 2024). They did what locusts do to farms. They spared almost nothing. They ate road slabs, pilfered roofs and stole ceilings. They attacked and looted at least one mosque – and at least one church. They hammered concrete slabs and squeezed out of them iron rods for sale. Well-paved roads suffered their anger because the beauty of the asphalt offended them. In a library, they stole dustbins and spared books. Trash is valuable, book is worthless.
