Space settlement is definitely on a lot of our minds these days, but what’s the history of it in literature? Have humans been thinking about settling in space for as long as we’ve been looking at the stars? They certainly have. It’s actually really fun for me to go back and read the older science fiction, when we hadn’t studied the planets enough yet to understand what it would be like to actually stand on the surface.
