Any Princeton student that wishes to enter Tiger Inn on a Thursday or Saturday night must present the formidable bouncers with the secret password: their Hotspot QR code. Hotspot, an app launched in the fall of 2022 by three Princeton students, Ayo Oguntula ’23, Dylan Porges ’23, and Marie Sirenko ’25, has quickly replaced the printed list system for entering parties several of the University’s eating clubs.

Professor Pramod Viswanath, an Electrical and Computer Engineering professor, calls his creation “Blockie.” It's an Artificial Intelligence teaching assistant fed with lectures and notes from his advanced engineering class. “Blockie’s just ChatGPT on steroids,” Viswanath told The Daily Princetonian. While some Princeton professors have banned AI tools, Viswanath's program highlights their pedagogical potentials in the classroom.

These prestigious firms participate in on-campus recruiting at Princeton, a notoriously competitive process consisting of several rounds of interviews.

“I knew I wanted to go to college,” Hadi Kamara ’26 said. “Among the ways to leave home and simultaneously pursue my education, the military seemed to be the best option.”The 22-year-old served in the United States Air Force from 2019–2022, while simultaneously enrolled in community college in his hometown of Alexandria, Va. Afterward, he enrolled at Princeton through its transfer program. The number of veteran undergraduates has increased in recent years.
