McNally’s Irish Pub, a Sioux Falls staple of 18 years, will reopen under new ownership in May after its sudden, unexplained closure days before Christmas last year. A small investment group of five Sioux Falls locals formed an LLC called South Side Partners and purchased the business located at 6211 S. Old Village Place from former owner Nikki Ellerbroek, who was looking for a buyer. Now the pub has a new lease on life as the group officially purchased McNally's on April 4.

For the second time in six years, trendy fashion retailer Forever 21 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on March 16, with more than 350 stores in the U.S. beginning going-out-of-business liquidation sales, including inside the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls. The retailer’s website will continue to operate as usual for the time being and gift cards will be accepted until April 15. Sioux Falls is one of 236 locations in the first wave of store closures and will close March 28.
