    NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - Nacogdoches ISD students will have a new option to help them save on college tuition. “The opportunities are so much greater now,” Shawn Lucena, Nacogdoches ISD’s CTE director. Started in the 2025-26 school year, courses in some of their Career and Technical Education, CTE programs, will have a dual credit option. “It’s a class that a student will take and receive high school credit and college credit at the same time,” Lucena said.

    HUDSON, Texas (KTRE) - A Hudson family has begun picking up the pieces from the house they called home less than a day ago. Wednesday, smoke could be seen pouring from the windows and from what is left of the roof of a Lufkin home on the 3600 block of Ted Trout Drive after it was struck by lightning Tuesday evening. The family said they were attempting to gather some of their belongings from the home around 2 a.m. Wednesday when the fire restarted.

    TIMPSON, Texas (KTRE) - The Sunday evening storm caused significant exterior damage to First Baptist Church of Timpson. According to church members, the storm came through around 5:30 p.m. It appears the storm took out part of the metal roof and a good amount of bricks from the exterior wall.
