The Toronto Blue Jays have optioned Easton Lucas to Triple-A Buffalo and called up Josh Walker, who has performed well for the Bisons. Walker sports a 2.57 ERA across six games with 10 strikeouts. Lucas performed well across two starts for the Blue Jays, but then had troubles with giving up home runs. He surrendered 14 runs across his last two starts. including five home runs. Lucas had a good run going, but unfortunately hitters figured him out all too quickly.

The Toronto Blue Jays made several roster moves on Sunday, one of which was placing reliever Nick Sandlin on the 15-day injury list. Sandlin has been dealing with a right lat strain for some time but has been managing it. Manager John Schneider felt it was best to shutdown Sandlin from throwing before the injury escalated. While not a severe injury, Sandlin’s absence will be a hit to the Blue Jays bullpen.

While it’s still early, he’s demonstrating an improved start compared to last season, where he illustrated some early struggles. His fastball has been dominant, and he’s been off to a strong start for the Blue Jays.

The latest injury update with Max Scherzer is not the best news for the Blue Jays, as he is still dealing with pain in his thumb. Scherzer has engaged in throwing, and unfortunately, the discomfort he’s been experiencing is lingering. According to manager John Schneider, Scherzer will visit specialist Dr. Thomas Graham this week for the second time. On March 31st, Scherzer got a cortisone shot in his thumb from his specialist.
