1. IntroductionCarpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is one of the most common disorders of peripheral nerve entrapment syndrome (Wipperman and Goerl, 2016). Patients with CTS often suffer from hand numbness, pain, muscle atrophy and weakness due to compression of the median nerve at the wrist as it passes through the carpal tunnel, which is a fibrous canal composed of the carpal bones and flexor support bands (nerves and tendons).
