My first promotion happened when I was just two years into my career. After that, the pattern seemed to continue. Every two years, like clockwork, I was promoted again. At some point, it felt like that was how it was going to be forever: Growth = Promotion + Increment. A decade later, the promotions came after much longer gaps.
