For many, water is a source of leisure, sport, and relaxation, but it also poses serious risks. Australia faces persistent challenges with drowning incidents, particularly during the summer months when water activities peak. The current ten-year average shows there are around 278 drowning deaths annually. These deaths mainly occur at beaches and rivers.

AWS has launched Amazon Bedrock Marketplace – a hub for foundation models from the likes of Nvidia, IBM and over 100 more. Announced during AWS’ re:Invent conference in Las Vegas, the marketplace aims to make it easy to discover and deploy both general-purpose and specialised AI models. The idea is to have models from both large enterprises as well as startups available through a single interface.

Amazon now has its own foundation models called ‘Amazon Nova’. The suite of multi-modal models were unveiled by Amazon CEO Andy Jassy at AWS’ Re:Invent conference in Las Vegas this week. According to Jassy, the new models (which are integrated into Amazon Bedrock) are designed to enhance multi-modal capabilities, speed, and cost-efficiency for enterprise customers.

Overnight AWS CEO Matt Garman announced multi-agent capabilities for Amazon Bedrock – its platform for building and deploying generative AI applications. It’s also taking aim at AI hallucinations and guardrails to ensure safety and accuracy for businesses. AI Agents are having a bit of a moment in the back half of 2024. September saw Salesforce, Hubspot and Google make big agent announcements within days of each other. As for AWS, it has flexed the fact that it first introduced AI agents in 2023.
