Soil heterogeneity is a source of uncertainty and bias in the flux-gradient method (FGM). The new Robust Calibrated Inverse FGM (RCI-FGM) approach within the R-package ConFluxPro addresses these uncertainties. In two CO2 case studies, RCI-FGM allows including chamber measurements for calibration to reduce bias and improve reliability. RCI-FGM allows quantifying uncertainty ranges in FGM flux estimates.
