Rape survivor and activist Brenda Tracy is suing Michigan State's Board of Trustees for mishandling the case involving former Michigan State University football coach Mel Tucker. Tracy accused Tucker of sexual harassment. The allegations became public after a USA Today report in September 2023. In a sit-down interview with CBS News Detroit on Wednesday, Tracy says she wants justice. "I'm seeking accountability for what has happened to me. I feel that I've been harmed," she said.

Hana's Garden at Seymour Lake Township Park is now open. The memorial honors the victims of the Oxford High School shooting. It's a project three years in the making. "I had my doubts many times that we were going to get to this point, but to actually get here and have the garden turn out like it has, is just amazing, even better than what I envisioned," Steve St. Juliana, whose daughter Hanna was one of the victims, said. The design is centered around the number four.

How a Detroit mural is celebrating 30 years of literary arts InsideOut Literary Arts is a creative writing and poetry organization in Detroit. The nonprofit is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with a special piece of artwork on the city's west side. The mural was inspired by a poem from 17-year-old Charisma Holly. "If I were to wake up in Detroit 25 years in the future, what would I want to see, and what would I want to be different about my community?" Holly said.

The city of Royal Oak, Michigan, is planning to rebuild 11 Mile Road between Woodward Avenue and Stephenson Highway. Officials are expected to provide the results of the public feedback survey on the proposed road project on Tuesday. Earlier this month, the city asked its residents to weigh in on proposed changes. The main purpose of the project is to incorporate left turn lanes throughout the corridor.
