The board extended the contract of Superintendent Dr. David O’Shields for 1 year, through June 30, 2028, with a salary increase of 4.1% retroactive to July 1, 2024. This is based on a commendable performance evaluation for 2023-24.

Clinton's 9 a.m. Christmas Parade on Saturday came off with lots of cowboy hats, cowboy themes, and another visit from Santa to continue the holiday spirit from Thursday evening's Tree-lighting. Grand Marshal was weatherman and musician/drummer Jack Roper. Floats and a band and cheerleaders and dancers, lots of vehicles of all kinds and - in keeping with the theme - two cowgirls on horses were seen by the parade participants.

CLINTON’S NEWEST BUSINESS - Advance Auto Parts had its official Laurens County Chamber of Commerce grand opening TODAY (Thursday, Dec. 5) at 909 South Broad Street. The occasion was celebrated by WPCC owner and Large Time Network DJ Pat Patterson handing out Dempsey’s pizza, which is located across the street from the new business, and spinning Seasonal and Beach favorites. The Chamber crew and ambassadors supplied the blue ribbon, giant scissors, and the bubbles machine.
