If you stand at the intersection of Green Street and New Bond Street in Bath and look north, you will see a sign reading “independent shops this way”. It is positioned on the protruding corner of 7 New Bond Street, drawing attention and footfall into the unassuming side street beyond. The sign was created by Tozer, a local signwriter who studies the visual language of historic signs in the area and re-applies them in a contemporary way.
