Prior to their Wednesday night trade up to select former Maryland forward Derik Queen with the 13th overall pick during the 2025 NBA Draft, the New Orleans Pelicans made another move on Tuesday. Just over 24 hours ahead of the start of the showcase, New Orleans sent CJ McCollum, Kelly Olynyk and a future second-round pick to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Jordan Poole, Saddiq Bey and the 40th overall pick.

After being selected with the first overall pick during the opening round of the NBA Draft on Wednesday night, Cooper Flagg is the talk of the town in Dallas. Mavericks fans received a notable injury update on fellow former No. 1 overall draft pick Kyrie Irving on Thursday, however. During an appearance on “Get Up,” ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Irving is looking to return from his torn ACL by the middle of the 2025-26 season.

Chicago Cubs fans will see their ace back on the mound for the first time in nearly two months on Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals. 31-year-old southpaw Shota Imanaga‘s return to the bump comes at the expense of former AL Rookie of the Year and one-time All-Star hurler Michael Fulmer, however. The Cubs announced on Thursday morning that Imanaga had been reinstated from the 15-day injured list, while Fulmer was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.
