(Victor Barreira) Brazilian privately owned engineering specialist Akaer Engenharia is eyeing a requirement of the Paraguayan Army for the modernisation of EE-9 Cascavel 6×6 armoured reconnaissance vehicles, a source told Janes on 19 May. The country has demonstrated interest in modernising up to 10 vehicles and is considering adding some improvements as part of Akaer's Cascavel modernisation package to EE-11 Urutu 6×6 troop carriers.
