DiscussionIn this study, 35 231 patients with MCA stroke between 2016 and 2020 were included. Results from the trend analysis revealed that the number of patients with MCA stroke within the NIS database gradually increased during the study period including the pandemic (2020). This is in opposition to previous reports showing a decrease in stroke admissions during the pandemic.
