Perched on a hill in the North Cornwall fishing village of Boscastle is Penally House. A handsome three-storey property, it was built in 1836 for local merchant and suspected smuggler William Sloggatt. ‘We first saw the house on Rightmove in 2021,’ says Anouska Lancaster, an interior designer and QVC presenter. ‘Our original plan was to relocate from Berkshire to Cornwall but not for a couple of years.’ However, the property looked so special, they booked a viewing.
