SuspiciousTwo suspicious males were panhandling near the Harold B. Lee Library. Officers were unable to locate the males in question. InformationBYU University Police received notification from the FBI about online threats directed at a BYU professor who resides in Orem. After officers contacted the individual, it was discovered that the victim was not a professor at BYU but rather a graduate student. Welfare checkAn elderly male’s pants had fallen down at the HBLL. Officers spoke with the individual.

SuspiciousA package was found at the Missionary Training Center with white powder inside. It was determined that the white powder was not an illicit substance but rather a prank involving laundry soap. Suspicious personA male was reported to be carrying a crowbar around Wymount Terrace. The individual advised he was a plumber, and he was working in the area fixing pipes. Criminal mischiefGraffiti was found on a sign that had been posted on a door in the Wilkinson Student Center.

MedicalA student was feeling cold and weak at the Joseph F. Smith Building. An officer offered a ride to the patient and their roommate to Helaman Halls. A student was having an allergic reaction in the Harold B. Lee Library. He was administered a dose of epinephrine and was given a ride to his residence. A tenant was feeling unwell at Wymount Terrace. They were assessed and released. Found propertyA debit card was found at the Martin Building. It was returned to its owner.

Welfare checkA student was supposed to be on an 8 a.m. flight to Florida to open his mission call, when his family was unable to contact him. An officer found the student at 7:30 and took him to Provo airport. It was confirmed that he made his flight and they would FaceTime BYU police officers when he opened his mission call later that day. Damaged propertyA report was made about missing shower heads and pipes in the bathroom at Helaman Halls building Budge Hall.

AlarmA system short caused an alarm at the Missionary Training Center. Officers responded to a fire alarm at Wyview Park. It was caused by cooking smoke, the tenants said. An individual touched security-protected merchandise at the Cougar Tech store, triggering an alarm. The alarm was reset. A tenant burnt their toast and triggered a fire alarm at Wyview Park. DisturbanceA man was reported to be shouting about angels and Donald Trump near the soccer field. Officers could not find him.

Explosive deviceAn officer received a delayed report of a student who allegedly made a dry ice bomb. The case is currently under investigation. Suicide attemptA female student expressed suicidal ideation and ingested multiple prescription anxiety medications with the intent to harm herself. After an evaluation, she was transported to Utah Valley Hospital. She was issued a “Pink Sheet” for temporary commitment.

SuspiciousA report was made that two males were possibly spray-painting the bridge over North Campus Drive. It was later discovered that they had been spraying silly string onto vehicles from the bridge. A report was made of two males throwing objects off the roof of the Smith Fieldhouse. They admitted to throwing popcorn kernels off the roof at cars and pedestrians, as well as spraying silly string from the pedestrian bridge. They were detained and issued citations.

AccidentA female student was struck from behind by a male on a motorized scooter while walking on the sidewalk near the Marriott Center. The female was diagnosed with fractures in both of her elbows. GraffitiJuveniles were seen drawing with paint markers on the cement tunnel of the Ellsworth Building. They fled when they were confronted by the caller. AlarmA fire alarm was triggered at Merrill Hall when a student tripped and accidentally pulled the hand pull alarm.

Injured deerA BYU EMS student reported an injured deer near the Brimhall Building. It appeared to have been hit by a car. The Utah Division of Wildlife wasn’t able to respond, so the officer euthanized the animal in a safe, humane manner. The grounds department removed the remains. Traffic offenseA road range incident occurred on University Parkway. The driver of a Honda Civic pulled over to let an SUV pass him.

Welfare checkOfficers conducted a welfare check at the West View Building on a person who was hysterical on the phone. The individual had been having a disagreement with their significant other via phone call. Officers provided the subject with information for resources that are available on campus. A subject was upset and causing a disturbance at the Music Building. An officer arrived and could not find the subject.
