Bishop Dwenger claimed its first sectional softball title since 2021 and its 14th overall with a 9-3 win over East Noble in the Class 3A DeKalb Sectional championship on Saturday. The Saints (18-9) scored five runs in the third inning and led 7-0 before the Knights (19-8-1) scored three runs in the sixth. Bishop Dwenger's Lydia Garrett went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and three runs scored.

Back in 2024, the Carroll Chargers beat Penn 3-2 to win a semistate title and advance to the state finals. On Saturday, the No. 15 Kingsmen returned the favor, beating No. 9 Carroll 3-2 in one of two Homestead Semistate championship matches on Saturday. The No. 19 Spartans also saw their run in the team state tournament come to an end, falling 5-0 to No. 4 Westfield. "We knew this was going to be a 3-2 match.

Heading into the Carroll Boys Track and Field Regional on Thursday, New Haven coach Larry Stemmler figured the team title would be a three-way race between the Bulldogs, Carroll and Yorktown, with Homestead also in the mix. But it didn't turn out to be a close race after all.

Carroll scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to trigger the 10-run rule and beat Snider 10-0 in five innings in the Class 4A Carroll Sectional softball final on Wednesday. Carroll senior pitcher Emilia Garcia allowed two hits and struck out three. The Chargers (22-5-1), who won their fourth straight sectional title and 10th all time, had 11 hits, none of them for extra bases, and sophomore Alexis Pee went 3 for 3 with one run scored.

BLUFFTON – Homestead took care of business on the road Wednesday, beating Manchester 5-0 to claim a fifth straight regional title. That means the No. 19 Spartans get to go back home, where they will play host to two semistate championship matches on Saturday morning. "We've battled through some injuries, so it's been kind of a bumpy road, but this is five in a row, so we feel good about that," Homestead coach Michael Hower said.
