Xbox adds custom touch controls in remote play for over 100 games

Xbox has rolled out a new update for February, adding touch controls in remote play and more. With this update in action, users will be able to play games without being tied to their console even if they don't have a wireless controller to hand. This is as Xbox remote play now supports custom touch control layouts on the Xbox app (via iOS, Android and Windows devices) for over 100 games.

Konami brings back retro classics Rocket Knight Adventures and Felix The Cat

The cat's out of the bag. No, really. It is. Konami and Limited Run Games are bringing retro classics Felix the Cat and Rocket Knight Adventures back for the modern age. The upcoming Felix the Cat release will include the feline's NES title and Game Boy title. Both games will come with a range of new features and "quality of life fixes" for today's gaming enjoyment.

Stray Souls developer shuts down following publisher's closure, cyberbullying and poor sales

Stray Souls developer Jukai Studio is shutting down. The decision to close was in light of its publisher Versus Evil also shutting down, but the studio additionally cited cyberbullying, Stray Souls' poor reception and bad sales as contributing factors. The studio announced it was closing in December, the same day Versus Evil closed, via a social media post (thanks, GamesIndustry.biz).

Infestation studio changes game name following concern over Neo-Nazi symbolism

Nightmare Forge Games has changed the name of horror game Infestation 88 after speculation that the number in its title was a Neo-Nazi symbol. Originally titled Infestation 88 and later stylised as '88, the studio has now removed the number entirely from its name. The game, which had its debut trailer earlier this week after the original Steamboat Willie Disney cartoon entered the public domain, is now known as Infestation: Origins.
Frogwares now sole publisher of The Sinking City following dispute with Nacon

Ukrainian studio Frogwares is now the sole publisher of Lovecraft-inspired detective adventure The Sinking City. This follows the conclusion of a legal dispute with publisher Nacon, in which Frogwares accused the company of claiming copyright of The Sinking City after its release, withholding milestone payments, and owing the developer unpaid royalties.
Jack Black reportedly to star as Minecraft's Steve in upcoming film

Jack Black is reportedly set to take on the role of Minecraft's Steve in the upcoming film adaptation. Deadline states that Black - who has also lent his talents to The Super Mario Bros. Movie and the forthcoming Borderlands adaptation - recently joined the cast of the Jason Momoa-fronted film. Black, meanwhile, has seemingly confirmed this report with a playful social media post.
