A woman in her fifties presented to our emergency department with a 2-week history of left-sided pleuritic chest pain and shortness of breath. Her past medical history consisted of recurrent admissions for alcohol-related pancreatitis, cholecystectomy, chronic kidney disease (stage 3A), impaired left ventricular function with an ejection fraction of 40–45%, hiatus hernia, and diverticular disease.
