Most turkeys come frozen, so don't forget to thaw it! The USDA recommends refrigerator thawing which takes time. It will take 24 hours to thaw a 4-5 pound bird. If you have a 16-pound turkey, start thawing no later than Sunday, November 24.

WASHINGTON (7News) — The cause of at least 25 cases of toxic bacteria was not identified and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) closed the investigation into the Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) associated with Lake Anna over Memorial Day Weekend. VDH ended the outbreak investigation on June 28, stating there were no new STEC cases and it does not expect to find new cases connected to the May 24-27 exposure.
