    ROXAS, Isabela —Police operatives arrested two men and confiscated P28 million worth of dried marijuana bricks during a checkpoint along the national road in this town on Tuesday (Jan. 14), authorities reported on Wednesday. Brigadier General Antonio Marallag Jr., Cagayan Valley regional police director, identified the suspects as “Rico” and “Jomel,” both 30 years old and residents of Barangka Ilaya, Mandaluyong City.

    TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN, Philippines — The bodies of three police officers, who drowned while on duty when their boat capsized Saturday, Dec. 7, were found in Calanasan, Apayao Sunday, Dec. 8, police said. The fatalities were identified as Patrolman Halteric Pallat of Apayao, Patrolman Resty Bayog of Kalinga, and Patrolman John Lorenzo Togay-an Jr. of Benguet. The cops drowned after the boat they were riding sank while navigating the Apayao River in Barangay Langnao.

    CAUAYAN CITY — A cargo vessel sank off the coast of Barangay Diana, Maconacon, Isabela on Wednesday (Dec. 4)  due to continuous heavy rains, local authorities said. The vessel, whose owner has not been identified, had been seeking shelter along the Maconacon coast since Typhoon “Pepito” (international name: Man-yi) battered the province.
