There was a time when the UFC was strenuously apolitical. There were fighters who seemed like assholes and others who didn’t, of course, but that was part of the fun. When Matt Serra famously disparaged his welterweight rival Matt Hughes as “a jock asshole” in season 6 of The Ultimate Fighter, it could be hard for an outsider to know what to make of it. One professional athlete calling another a jock? Aren’t they all jocks?

I’m constantly mystified by golf telecasts. You’ll have 100 of the best golfers in the world out there knocking balls around at the same time and the coverage is constantly showing 90 seconds of someone lining up a putt or walking off a green.

Seems like a solid majority of the kids being homeschooled are the exact kids who most need to get out of their houses.
This case leaves me wondering what safeguards are available to check on homeschooled children? Because I’ve also heard cults do a lot of homeschooling to basically disappear the child from the system. They want to hide abuse. Just an awful awful case.
