    The iconic backwards hurdle Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley performed over a defender last year is officially the cover of Madden NFL 26, EA Sports announced Monday. The reigning AP Offensive Player of the Year was also named to the Madden 99 Club, a first for an Eagles offensive player and the team’s first club member in 20 years. Available for pre-order, Madden NFL 26 is set to release on Aug. 14.

    The New York Times announced Thursday that it has agreed to a multi-year licensing deal with Amazon that will allow the tech firm to use the publication’s content for AI capabilities. Amazon is permitted to share excerpts of Times coverage through Alexa, its AI-controlled voice assistant, while Amazon’s AI models will be trained to use select content. Amazon also gains access to material from The Athletic, the digital sports platform, and NYT Cooking material.

    Mariah Carey, Jamie Foxx, Kirk Franklin, and Snoop Dogg will be recognized with the Ultimate Icon Award during next month’s BET Awards, the network announced Wednesday. Past recipients of this honor include Janet Jackson (2015), Deborah L. Lee (2018), and Tyler Perry (2019). All four will also perform during the June 9 live broadcast, which Kevin Hart will host. Those attending Fanatics Fest NYC will have the chance to catch a live taping of The Shop on Saturday, June 21.

    Drake is bringing his OVO Fest back this year, confirming its return during a surprise appearance at rapper Central Cee’s Toronto show over the weekend. First launched in 2010, the superstar artist hasn’t hosted the festival since 2022 when he reunited with Young Money pals Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj with additional performances by Kardinal Offishall, Shawn Desman, Nelly Furtado, and others. Before that, the event had taken a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
