A Philadelphia man who operated a sprawling gun ring that armed criminals with weapons used in robberies, shootings and other violent crimes was sentenced to 22 1/2 to 45 years in Pennsylvania state prison. From his home in Philadelphia, Larry Williams, 42, distributed at least 94 guns to criminals across Pennsylvania and in New York City and Connecticut, in what Montgomery County prosecutors said was one of the largest criminal organizations of its kind in the region.

A West Chester man scaled the roof of his home and shot at police officers who were responding to calls to help him during a mental-health crisis, according to court documents filed this week. William McGillan Jr., 24, has been charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, reckless endangerment, and related crimes in connection with the chaotic scene Sunday, during which authorities say a West Chester Police officer shot back at him.

A former Delaware County woman who prosecutors say has ties to an “extremist group” accused of a number of violent crimes and is a person of interest in the 2022 deaths of her parents in their Chester Heights home, denied killing the couple in a statement released Tuesday. Michelle Zajko, 32, said she had nothing to do with the shooting deaths of her parents.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele has ruled that Abington Township police officers were justified in shooting an unarmed man while responding to a call about a domestic dispute in March. Because the officers heard a woman screaming and a gunshot fired shortly after they arrived at the scene, “the facts of this case supported the use of deadly force to prevent serious bodily injury to themselves” or the woman living in the apartment, Steele said in a statement.
