All Points East, annually held at the end of summer, takes place in London’s Victoria Park. Started in 2018 by the same company behind Coachella, APE has expanded into a two-weekend event with each of the six days boasting a unique lineup spanning across a variety of genres.

The final day of All Points in London’s Victoria Park took us on a journey across the history of indie rock with The Decemberists, Sleater-Kinney, Teenage Fanclub, Yo La Tengo, and The Postal Service. We also got a taste of the future with acts by Brooklyn art punk outfit Gustav and country shoegazers Wednesday. Founded in 2017, Hills of Rock is Bulgaria’s oldest and largest rock and metal festival. Each year in July, The City of Seven Hills is invaded by hordes of rock-loving fans, transforming the ancient city of Plovdiv into a haven for rock enthusiasts. After covering fests in Europe for nearly a decade, I’ve only been to one other festival in Bulgaria so Hills of Rock is giving me a chance to experience the scene here with arguably the best music fest in the country.

The final day of Hills of Rock arrived with an absolute throwdown of metal with Combichrist and Pain leading the charge on the main stage. The second day of Hills Of Rock continued to deliver with another stacked evening of artists including everything from the hard sounds of Baroness to the metal flavored fiddle of Imminence. We also had the opportunity to dip into some of the best Bulgarian rock bands on the second stages including a late night reunion of the infamous Chicken Head. The Friday night headliner, Bring Me The Horizon, absolutely delivered with a production heavy set covering multiple genres.
