A stalled front will keep rain chances elevated as tropical moisture continues to get pumped across the region. This is will make for a wet pattern ahead. Therefore, heavy rainfall in rounds possible through Tuesday and flooding is likely in some areas.  Models calling between 3 to 5 inches of rain with isolated higher amounts possible. The first significant plume of Saharan Dust this season is set to arrive mid to late week and that should knock rain chances down a little.

Typical Rainy Season chances continue for South Florida with a Summer-like pattern. Look for morning showers developing around our local waters and then our breeze out of the South-Southeast pushing storms that develop with the daytime heat inland. This will be the trend through Thursday. Models are showing a better chance of seeing more coverage of showers and storms to close out the week and going into the weekend. Today in the Tropics all is quiet.

Just want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has served and paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom. Today we honor all of you! On this Memorial Day, we will have the best chance of seeing showers in the morning. Once we heat up in the afternoon, the sea breeze will generate some showers and storms that will slowly push inland. Therefore, if you are planning on grilling or just have activities scheduled outdoors, most areas will seem dry.

South Florida look for another day of flirting with record heat and now the chance of seeing showers and storms. A weak front over North Florida, steering winds out of the Southwest and heat will help activity start in inland push toward metro areas. Some could be strong. The Storm Prediction Center has Broward and Northern Miami-Dade under a marginal risk of seeing a strong to isolated severe storm between 2-10pm.

Extremely wet start to the work-week across South Florida with some much needed rainfall. A front is expected to crawl Eastward not completely clearing Southeast Florida until Tuesday night, so count on repeated rounds of heavy downpours. Flooding potential is high. A FLOOD WATCH is in effect for South Florida (mainland) through Tuesday Morning. Periods of steady moderate to heavy rainfall are expected.

If you suffer from respiratory issues or allergies, the air quality is moderate due to the thicker plume of Saharan Dust that has settled across South Florida. Please take the proper precautions. @wsvn #flwx https://t.co/Wp8uV3p5QP
