"I think neither Trump nor the USA is ready for such a war. I believe both sides are concerned that it could lead to a political conflict. On the contrary, the way Trump is currently handling Taiwan, it benefits China. They can take a pause, and then, once relations with the USA and Trump are settled, they can intensify pressure on Taiwan," said Fesenko.

"With all due respect to Trump and his efforts, he may make concessions that would not be entirely acceptable to us. There is no concrete information yet, but I think the Ukrainian negotiators are not confident in the principled stance of his position. Therefore, Ukraine needs to strengthen its position, and Europe is the best partner for us," Fesenko noted. Another reason, in his opinion, could be that European countries might take on the role of peacekeepers and security guarantors in Ukraine.

Recently, Reuters published an article compiling three main plans to end the war in Ukraine, which are supposedly being considered by Trump. According to the agency, these plans were proposed by his advisers. Each proposal includes Ukraine's refusal to join NATO. The advisers to the newly elected President are said to be attempting to force Moscow and Kyiv into negotiations through a carrot-and-stick approach, which includes the idea of halting military aid to Ukraine if it refuses to negotiate.
