THE Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) has a new resident, an infant monkey, that was rescued in Amanzimtoti recently. Also read: Meet Crow’s latest addition, FluffyIn a statement, Crow said injuries on the monkey’s body suggested it might have survived an attack. “Upon examination, our dedicated team discovered an injury to her eye, a small scrape on her left ear, a tear on the skin of her right arm, and a mark on her tail,” it said.

STRAY cats that live near Pipeline Beach in Amanzimtoti have a fighting chance for survival as two community members have taken it upon themselves to feed them. Also read: Killer of feral cats is out in AmanzimtotiRex Naidoo said around nine cats live in that area, with others living all over the greater Amanzimtoti. The Naidoos feed the cats out of their own pockets daily.

THE South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (Sanral) has announced road closures for bridge jacking at the EB Cloete Interchange (Spaghetti Junction), affecting the southbound route to Amanzimtoti on the N2 from February 8-10. Eastbound traffic on the N3 will also be affected.

OWEN Masinga has been announced by the Amanzimtoti Rugby Club as its new head coach after having been part of the club’s coaching team for the past three years. Also read: Amanzimtoti rugby players to represent KZNIn a statement the club congratulated Masinga, saying he brings valuable experience to his new position. In 2023, the club appointed Masinga as the U20 forwards coach and his commitment and skills enabled him to move to the senior position.
