    11 Young cyclists who are riding from Baltimore to San Francisco raising funds for the Ulman Cancer Foundation, made a stop in Princeton on Saturday, June 24. The Ulman Cancer Foundation provides resources and support to young adults with cancer. Each cyclist was required to raise at least $5,000 in order to participate in the ride. The group enjoyed showers and a swim in the pool at the Bureau County Metro Center and was also given a dinner at the Open Prairie United Church of Christ.

    DeKALB – The DeKalb Public Library will partner with Basic DeKalb County to host outdoor story time sessions at Welsh Park. The park, 651 Russell Road, DeKalb, will hold the sessions at 10 a.m. July 6 and July 13 in the Toddler Garden, according to a news release. The sessions are being led by librarians John and Laura. If the weather is inclement, the sessions will be canceled. The cancellations are available on the library’s Facebook page. No registration is required to attend.

    DIXON - Petunia Festival has a full slate of activities for Friday. The carnival begins on Lincoln Statue Drive between Dixon High School and the riverfront with special needs quiet hours from 3 to 5 p.m. The carnival continues from 5 to 11 p.m. Operation times for Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are 1 to 11 p.m.Wristbands are available Friday for $30 and $35 for Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Individual ride tickets cost 1 for $1.50, 20 for $25 and 50 for $60.
