1. Introduction 1.1. BackgroundThe global ageing population is a growing concern, with an estimated 1.4 billion people aged 60 and older by 2030, doubling to 2.1 billion by 2050 [1]. In Hong Kong, the number of older individuals is expected to reach 2.74 million by 2046 [2]. Poor oral health among this population has become a challenge as it is often overlooked, negatively impacting their general health and quality of life [3,4].
