Police claim the man died by suicide but the situation has raised numerous questions, particularly because the suspect was booked under the wrong name in the Occurrence Book (OB). Mr Simon Tumbi Kihanya, 44, was arrested on Monday afternoon on his way to Turasha market.

Nyandarua County has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of Beth Wahito, a nominated Member of the County Assembly (MCA). Ms Wahito died in a road accident on Saturday night on the busy Nairobi–Nakuru highway. According to Nyandarua County Speaker Wachira Waiganjo, Ms Wahito was returning home from Naivasha, where she had attended a meeting about the upcoming county budget.

Nyandarua police are holding a man following the brutal killing of his wife at the Vatican Estate in Ol Kalou town, Nyandarua County. Neighbours discovered the beheaded body of Maureen Nyaboke, a mother of three, in her house on Tuesday evening. Investigators believe the killer took advantage of the heavy afternoon rains to commit the crime unnoticed. Ruth Khavai, a neighbour, said a child who had witnessed the incident led her to the scene but was too young to fully explain what she had seen.

A family from Kinangop, Nyandarua County, is demanding justice for their daughter after she miscarried while in custody at Rwanyambo Police Post. Milka Wangari, who was 7 months pregnant, developed complications on arrival at the police station. Her family alleges that she requested medical attention but it was denied, leading to the miscarriage. She was ferried to the station Tuesday by police following a complaint from her employer who alleged that Sh18,000 from that day’s sales were missing.
