Listen to last week’s Walter Martin Radio Hour: Remembering Michael HurleyMy wife and I saw the amazing pianist Mitsuko Uchida perform last weekend at Union College in Schenectady, NY. She was absolutely phenomenal—her program included works by Beethoven, Schubert, Schoenberg, and Kurtág—and it got me back on a solo piano music tear!So I’ve spent the week sorting through old favorites and new discoveries, and I figured I’d compile a nice long playlist of my recent solo piano obsessions.

Ok I’m finally doing a studio tour! There’s a lot of wild stuff in here: noisemakers, organs, guitars, records, autographs, etc. And yes, I actually have a bison head once owned by Maurice Sendak. All in an 1810s one-room schoolhouse. After working in windowless sh*t-holes all around New York City for 26 years, I finally found the studio of my dreams. Peewee’s Playhouse vibes abound. Enjoy the tour!Full tour below for paid subscribers.

Listen to last week’s Walter Martin Radio Hour: Tax Avoidance BoogieOk here’s a very indulgent playlist that includes everything from last week’s episode plus lots more. The cover of Taxman that leads off this playlist is not to be missed—I just don’t have it on vinyl (yet!) so didn’t stick it in the episode. Anyway, please enjoy this irresponsible music while you continue to avoid paying your taxes—that’s what I’m gonna do.

Listen to last week’s episode:Ok Let’s Talk About Cameron WinterHi - I’m glad people enjoyed last week’s episode about Cameron Winter. Thanks for all the nice notes about it. This week’s Music for Your Week is gonna be a little different. After last week’s episode, so many people wrote to me saying they’d checked out Cameron Winter’s album Heavy Metal and I’d definitely recommend doing that. It’s great.
