BAYBORO - For the third consecutive year, the Pamlico softball team captured a Coastal Plains Conference title, only to experience disappointment early in the NCHSAA 1A playoffs. On Thursday, ninth-seeded Falls Lake brought serious firepower to the plate, scoring eight runs in the first three innings to register a 10-7 win over the eighth-seeded Hurricanes 10-7 in the second round.
