AbstractThe extracellular matrix is an essential component and constitutes a dynamic microenvironment of the vessel wall with an indispensable role in vascular homeostasis and disease. From early development through to ageing, the vascular extracellular matrix undergoes various biochemical and biomechanical alterations in response to diverse environmental cues and exerts precise regulatory control over vessel remodelling.

We have proposed a method to predict the beam quality of a quasi-continuous-wave(QCW)-pumped, passively Q-switched (PQS) monolithic ${\rm YAG}/{\rm Nd}\!:\!{\rm YAG}/{{\rm Cr}^{4 +}}\!:\!{\rm YAG}$ microchip. The boundary conditionsfor the pulse width and optical intensity of the PQS microchip wereobtained by solving the rate equations with different initialtransmittances of the saturable absorber and reflectivities of theoutput coupler.

We demonstrate a pulsed mid-infrared (MIR) optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with both inter-pulse and intra-pulse dual-wavelength operation capability. A fiber master oscillator power amplifier incorporating an acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) was employed as the pump for the OPO. By finely adjusting the drive wave packets for the AOTF, dual-wavelength pump can be realized within each pulse or between two adjacent pulses.

AbstractAge-associated hypercoagulability is accompanied by the increase of plasma levels of some coagulation factors including fibrinogen which may contribute to the increased risk of cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and thrombotic diseases in elderly people. However, the underlying mechanism of increased plasma fibrinogen concentration during aging is still elusive. GRSF1 belongs to the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins F/H (hnRNP F/H) subfamily.
