CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville marked its 5th annual Juneteenth Parade on Thursday, with a celebration hosted by Manifest Magic Black Girl Cooperative. The event brought many together to honor the historic day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans were emancipated in the United States. The parade started on Commerce Street and ended at the Burt-Cobb Recreation Center.

FORT CAMPBELL, KY (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Week of the Eagles wrapped up Saturday with a full day of events marking the end of the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday. The day’s events included an air assault demonstration, a cake-cutting ceremony, a swearing-in ceremony for future soldiers, and a live concert by country artist Andy Ross. Hundreds of soldiers, veterans, families, and community members gathered at Fort Campbell to take part in the festivities.

DOVER, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Camp Rainbow, a weeklong summer camp for children with medical conditions, has returned this week with outdoor adventures and fun for all. Held each June at the Brandon Springs Group Camp in Dover, the program has been running since 1983 and continues to provide a camp experience in a fully supported medical environment. Camp Rainbow allows children who might not otherwise be able to attend camp due to their health to enjoy activities and make friends.

FORT CAMPBELL, KY (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The 101st Airborne Division Week of the Eagles is in full swing from June 9-14, celebrating the Army’s 250th birthday with a many events, from tactical demonstrations to sports tournaments. Among the week’s events were the combatives tournament, stress shoot and boxing, all showcasing the strength of soldiers across the division. Soldiers filled the gym to compete and support fighters during the combatives tournament.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The All White Party was held at Freedom Point in Liberty Park on Saturday, bringing people together for an evening of music and dancing. The event marked Clarksville’s first “All White” party on the river. The night began with music from DJ Sir Charles and followed with a live performance from Clarksville’s own Tina Brown. Event coordinator Charles Minter wanted to bring a new event to the growing Clarksville area.
