Christmas is coming early to the ESG bond market as the new EU Green Bond Standard applies from 21 December 2024. The new standard is conceptually similar to existing ICMA use of proceeds standards but quite different in the detail. Under the standard, net proceeds, subject to certain exceptions, must be allocated to EU taxonomy-aligned activities and Issuers must fulfil various reporting and information requirements in accordance with new pre and post issuance disclosure templates.

Whitney got a bit nostalgic this holiday season and is sharing fond memories and thoughts of Millerton, NY, a place she called home for over 20 years. For those not in the know, Whitney served as the editor of The Millerton News for the majority of that time, and as a result, became intimately connected to this community and its people. Since moving out of the area, she wanted to reflect on fond memories. Enjoy. It’s been a tumultuous 2024, especially with the lead-up to the presidential election.

A funny thing happens to children as they age – many find themselves becoming caretakers to their aging parents. While it can be a natural progression to take on these added responsibilities and many do so out of love, respect, and compassion, the role reversal can be stressful, confusing, and sometimes frustrating. For children living in oblivion unaware of such necessities, transitioning from being the one who is cared for to the one who is doing the caring might catch them unexpectedly.

For readers who may remember my article from last July’s issue that like this one centered around food and drink, this is a follow-up to the challenges I face as a foodie trying to buy fresh, local, and primarily organic ingredients I can whip into Michelin-star-worthy meals that miraculously remain healthy. I’ve been trying to cook cleanly – and gratifyingly – for my partner, Jason, our dog, Bailey (also my sous chef who barters for samples), and myself in the year since writing that article.
