Sunny skies graced Elkfest but a decrease in antler pounds equated to a decrease in revenue for Scouting America. Normally bringing in north of $200,000, this year’s antler auction Saturday on the Town Square netted $109,131, with 6,045 pounds of antlers gathered by scouts from the National Elk Refuge in April. Paul Vogelheim, president of Jackson Hole Friends of Scouting, said a few Elkfest regular, “key” buyers weren’t there Saturday. “It’s a mystery to us,” he said.
