It was Pat Benstead, the wife of the very first Kingscliff Station Officer, A.C Benstead who officially opened the new Kingscliff Ambulance Station yesterday. Co-located on the new Tweed Valley Hospital campus, the new two-level ambulance station replaces the 65-year-old station on Marine Parade in Kingscliff. It features eight internal parking bays including an internal wash bay, administration and office areas, staff rest facilities, gym, logistics and storage areas and on-site parking.

An investigation is underway after the body of a man was located on a rural property west of Coffs Harbour. About 7pm yesterday (Thursday, 22 August, 2024), emergency services were called to a property in Darkwood – about 67km west of Coffs Harbour – following reports a body was located. Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District attended and located the body of a man out the front of the property. He is yet to be formally identified; however, is believed to be aged in his 60s.
