The world is a different place than when we last saw Paddington in 2017. And yet, it’s not. Trump is in office. The world is in constant despair. Every day feels worse than the last. What better time to welcome our favorite little British import, Paddington, to the big screen? And yet, while Paddington 2 became one of the most acclaimed films — family or otherwise — in the last two decades, Paddington in Peru has curiously gotten a much quieter U.S. reception. When it comes to modern-day “nepo babies,” Cazzie David is, at the very least, an interesting one. Or, at least, she is to me. The daughter of Larry David, best known for Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, Ms. David is comedy royalty, and she can often be quite funny as a person and writer. But she is also, curiously and sometimes tiresomely, very, very much a millennial (I saw that, of course, as a millennial myself).
