If Leeds United are going to be able to improve all areas of the squad that require strengthening, then there will have to be a few bargain deals acquired this summer. In one of the more-surprising links of the transfer window so far, Leeds United are one of eight Premier League clubs considering a move to sign Liverpool defender Joe Gomez. A priority for Leeds United and new sporting director Adam Underwood this summer will be the signing of a centre-back that knows what the Premier League is all about. The 49ers have set Underwood, Robbie Evans and Daniel Farke a transfer budget of £150m and there is preference given to the signings of a new goalkeeper, centre-back, a midfielder and a proven striker. Leeds will need more than that if they are to provide Farke with a squad capable of survival in the top flight of English football.

Christantus Uche is one of the latest names to be linked with a move to Leeds United after a stunning first season with Getafe – and now, his agent has been speaking about his future. Bought from Spanish minnows Ceuta in the summer of 2024, Uche may have been forgiven for needing a year or two to reach top-flight level. But he hit the ground running, making him extreme value for money.
