This was an unfortunately fitting moment. In the first half of the Minnesota Timberwolves' Game 1 against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night, Nickeil Alexander-Walker's name was added to a very specific list of players in NBA history: Those that have fallen victim to a chase-down block by LeBron James. Arguably James' most well-known play caught NAW by surprise.

Hawks fans can't be thrilled. After their 123-114 overtime loss to the Miami Heat on Friday night, the Atlanta Hawks will now officially miss the playoffs for the second season in a row. It's no secret that this team is not exactly trending upward when you look at the year over year results, and there are some serious conversations to be had about the players on this roster in the near future. One of those players being Trae Young.

Orlando will not be an easy out. The Orlando Magic will be heading to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for just the second time in the last 13 years this weekend. They didn't get to this point under perfect conditions, as a season full of injury trouble derailed what would have otherwise been a fantastic follow-up on a year where they came one win away from securing home court in the first round of the playoffs in 2023-24.

Let's make sure we're all on the same page. As everyone is aware by now, the Minnesota Timberwolves are preparing to face the Los Angeles Lakers in round one of the playoffs this coming weekend. When they do, they'll actually have quite a bit of an advantage over the Lake Show. Everyone wants to point to Luka Doncic and how he played so well against the Wolves in last year's Western Conference Finals.

Minnesota may have a back-door opportunity to replace the now-departed big man. Leading up to the playoffs, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been playing some excellent basketball. Anthony Edwards still looks like a top 10 player, and Julius Randle has really found his groove as a scorer and playmaker. The Wolves finished the regular season as winners of 17 of their last 21 overall, including eight of their final nine.

For the Timberwolves to finish 6th and avoid the play-in, they still need the Warriors to lose to the Clippers in Game 82. Holding a 3-1 advantage in head-to-head this season. Golden State has the tiebreaker over Minnesota.

Not my DPOY.

Spurs went right at Draymond down the stretch

This was an egregious take from the outset, and it’s only aged worse with time.

Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia: “Ask the other 29 GMs, 26 of them would trade their whole team for our whole team, our draft picks, and everything as is. The house is not on fire. We’re in a great position. It’s not hard to fix.” (🎥 @CamCox12) https://t.co/xawnNJPXfI
