    ST. LUCIE COUNTY − A prescribed burn east of U.S. 1 on April 15 likely will emit smoke visible to the public, according to the state Department of Environmental Protection. The burn at Savannas Preserve State Park is planned to start about 10 a.m. and conclude about 3 p.m., said Miranda Cunningham, environmental specialist II with DEP. The burn is expected to cover about 416 acres of pine flatwoods in an area east of Port St. Lucie High School and north of Southeast Walton Road.
