First responders rescued three people June 1 after a plane crashed down in the ocean in Vero Beach, Florida. A multi-agency search and rescue successfully located and rescued the three occupants, consisting of the pilot and two passengers, after an Indian River County Sheriff’s Office helicopter located heat signatures in the water. At around 9:50 p.m., two survivors were found. And shortly after, the third survivor was found and identified himself as the plane's pilot.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY – St. Lucie County Sheriff’s officials are investigating the suspicious death of a child after the child apparently hadn’t shown up to school for about two weeks, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s officials reported going to a home about 10 a.m. May 30 in the 2500 block of Bedford Drive. They were conducting a welfare check at the request of a school resource deputy after “concerns of a 6-year-old child's absence from school since May 14,” the agency stated.
